Drink Wise, Age Well, Sheffield’s 50+ and Sheffield DACT consultation on the new guidelines for over 50’s.

alcohol consultation v2 2

The Department of Health recently released new guidelines providing information and advice on how to keep risks to health around drinking alcohol to a minimum. As part of releasing these guidelines the Department of Health has requested feedback from the public, including views on whether the reasons for the new guidelines are clear and whether the guidelines themselves are easy to understand.

Drink Wise, Age Well supports us to make healthier choices about alcohol as we age. We are therefore happy to see older people specifically identified as a risk group under the guidelines and feel it is important to highlight the increased risks from alcohol as we age.

Drink Wise, Age Well Sheffield in partnership with Sheffield 50+ and Sheffield DACT would like to invite you down to a Conversation Café on Monday 29th February at 10:30am to see if we can collate feedback from as many of the city's over 50 population as possible.

At our Conversation Café there is nothing to join, no homework, no agenda, just a simple process that helps to shift us from small talk to BIG talk i.e conversations that matter.

It is a one-and-a-half hour hosted conversation, where anyone is welcome to join. A simple format helps people feel at ease and gives everyone who wants to, a chance to speak—it’s also fine for people to simply listen.
We would really like to capture and share a wide range of views, and welcome discussions on how alcohol impacts on our daily lives, friends, families and communities.

If you are interested in joining the conversation than call Drink Wise, Age Well on 0114 349 1888 to book your place. Please note the Conversation Café will be held on the 29th February at 10:30 am, due to nature of the event the Conversation Café will be held in the city center. We will confirm the location dependent on the number of attendees.
