Coping at Christmas

Coping at Christmas

Christmas can be a stressful time for many. Between expectations of gift-giving, travel, keeping up with a busy social calendar as well as balancing commitments to family, nearly anyone can find themselves driven towards the nearest coping mechanism, whatever that may be.

For people struggling with alcohol problems or in recovery from a dependency the holidays can be a particularly challenging season that without careful planning can lead to the risk of a relapse into old drinking habits.

We have spoken to individuals connected to the ARC about how they are feeling as we approach this period and offer their advice on coping at Christmas. Click here to listen to their stories.
