Could you help a young person overcome their difficulties and build their aspirations?
We are looking to recruit volunteer mentors - to work with young people who are struggling with relationships, at risk of offending or being excluded from school.
Families Together supports families who are facing challenges in meeting the needs of their children. We focus on empowering the family to build on the strengths and values that are unique to them. We support the whole family to make sustainable, positive changes around their family’s wellbeing. Our Specialist Mentoring Service uses these principles to enable young people aged 5–19 years old to achieve and develop their own positive aspirations.
As a mentor you will meet the young person on a regular basis and support them by:
- offering advice and friendship
- encouraging and motivating them to make better choices
- taking them on activities that motivate and promote wellbeing
It will make a real difference to the young person knowing they have someone on their side, who has chosen to be there for them. Some young people may have conditions such as ADHD or Asperger’s.
As a mentor you will be supported in your role through an initial induction, comprehensive training programme and ongoing support and supervision.
